Zynga has no plans to eliminate AWS entirely, but Zynga is not counting Amazon in as a major player: With its active user base of 240 million, that translates into 1.4 petabytes of data now living on Zynga’s zCloud, reports TechCrunch (TC). What is a surprise is the dramatic shift away from Amazon for cloud services. Amazon is estimated to have provided 80 percent of cloud computing services to Zynga in the early days, and now delivers a mere 20 percent. But to cut costs and diversify its risks, Zynga is now investing more money in building its own data centers, according to the company’s initial public offering filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
